Quaint & Quirky! Fairies & Ghost Carp!

Just out the back behind the kitchen of the old farmhouse lies a quarry - interestingly enough this small quarry supplied all the stone required to build the impressive building we now live in and indeed many of our fortunate guests dwell in if not short lived! (Idyllic Self-catering Cottage & Fishing)

Well only last summer we discovered a little orange booklet with beautiful drawings and an old English testament to another world long before our time here!

Stunning beautiful body forms leaping out in the early spring mornings with golden auburn hair floating effortlessly in a cool breeze, darting with ease, almost skating across the meadows down to the Devon Fishing Holiday pools, dancing over the Lily pods - stopping fleetingly to cool their exquisite faces with the fresh spa waters from the cool fishing lakes here in Devon. Fishing men and women alike would often wonder at their incredible beauty before, as if in a flash they would transform into a transluent figure and merge effervescently under and within the magic below the waters edge.

Ok so we are not the first to magic up some Devon mystery here at Newbarn Farm - what about a little chappie not far from here (secret to you but again great Holiday Cottages & Fishing) - he often told his guests that Morris Men in his area hibernated for the winter by hanging upside down in caves beside the sea. Having slept soundly throughout the cold dark months, come Easter they would, he maintained, begin to stir themselves into life by shaking their feet so the bells jingled, after which they'd lower themselves gently to the ground and emerge into the spring sunshine, singing, dancing and waving sticks at each other to celebrate Nature waking up once more. This Fishing man in Devon swore that his every word was hung on to and all that listened from the visitors in his Self-catering Cottage & Fishing centre believed the story to be completely true.
Pssst! Don't forget to visit the fairies - they only bless us with their company on cloudless clear blue days and only when at least 50lb of Ghost Carp have been caught by those Fishing in Devon!
