Self catering cottages Devon

http://selfcateringcottages.blogspot.com/google9ae923ee60002300.html

Hi Everyone

How are you, I've got the catch report for last week, bit late I know, but you know what life in Devon is like, layed back, cool and calm, or maybe it is because Richard has twisted his knee and is on crutches.

42 acres of Devon on crutches, we must get some gloves.

Just click on the picture below for the catch report

Some more news

Dave has been manufacturing a chicken coup

(when I first saw that, I thought it said chicken soup, obviously not planning on keeping the chickens long, should have gone to Specsavers)

so we will soon be offering fresh eggs.

He has also refurbished the outside of the Water Shed and Log Shed in a rural design, to keep them the same as the surrounding areas. They look great!

Darren has been contacting interested Devon parties regarding fishing days and corporate angling and team building events.

We have road tested some new pasties and pies, which I think is more to do with Richards twisted knee, you know how out of balance you can get when your carrying a bit of weight.

They are delicious and we hope we can give you a Devon / Newbarn Farm cottages and angling centre Pasty to delight, They can also offer bread and cakes etc so we will also have a celebrity cake as well, Catherine is road testing these at the moment," must get some more crutches".

Richard and Catherine organised a 50th Birthday party, which went very well. The 6 people attending the celebration had Devon bacon sandwiches to start, with tea and coffee on offer all day, all tackle etc was supplied and they had their fishing on Island pool. This pool was temporarily closed to the other anglers. At lunchtime they enjoyed the pasties and accompanying grub. More teas and coffees, lots more fishing and then home. Several promises to return were made on departure.

Richard gave the birthday girl some Devon Clotted Cream Fudge, "must remember crutches for the guests", and a birthday card from everyone at Newbarn Farm who were involved in the day.

The lady anglers are all commenting on the greatly improved toilet facilities, as have a lot of the gentlemen fisherman. They are a great success!!

Our license to sell alcoholic beverages is imminent, should be with us by the end of the month. But we are at the mercy of Torbay Council.

It is our plan to offer Devon wine, cider and beer and we hope everyone will enjoy the local tipples.

The old quarry area has been cleared now, it needs landscaping and then we plan to turn it into the reading / quiet area. It has a great view over Island, Rosie and Lulu Pools and not a bad view towards Willow and Mirror Lakes.

So you can get your large glass of Devon Cider, a nice book on Carp fishing in Devon, relax and fall asleep, recharge you batteries for your next hectic day at Newbarn farm cottages and angling centre.

Pies are good

Regards Simon
