Fishing Devon Holidays at Newbarn Farm

Here at Newbarn Farm, a great Devon Fishing Holiday location, we appreciate that it is not the every angling enthusiast that wishes to fish all day and everyday. We also appreciate that where there is one in the family who would love to fish all day there will be at least one who doesn't actually much care for the sport, especially when on holiday staying in a luxury 4 STAR self-catering cottage even if there does happen to be quality coarse fishing on site.

Naturally most families will make compromises, but that needn't be the case - the fishing mad member or members of the family can spend as much time fishing as they would care for here whilst the rest of the family can spend their time exploring the major holiday resort of Torbay, known for its numerous and diverse visitors attractions. Famous for Basil Fawlty and his Fawlty Towers Hotel, which was based on the Gleneagles Hotel in Asheldon Road. John Cleese happened to stay there and averred its owner was the 'most wondefully rude man I have ever met'.

Living Coasts and Paignton Zoo are natural wildlife parks. Quay West, overlooking Goodrington Sands, is a water flume extravaganza with some adrenalin-busting white-knuckle rides.

Babbacombe Model Village is a complete community in minature, including replicas of local and national places of interest. Even a spot for a Fishing in Devon minature!

Bygones is a walk-through exhibition of Torquay life from Victorian times to the Second World War. See how the Neolithic man lived 450,000 years ago in the caves at Kents Cavern (wonder if they ever enjoyed Devon Fishing Holdiays!).

Torquay Museum has the famous Agatha room (Newbarn Farm has the famous celebrity fish, Queenie, here at your favourite Holdiay Cottages & Fishing location). Brixham heritage Museum shows local life since the Napolenic times and the replica of Sir Francis Drake's Golen Hind, in the harbour, goes back further to the 16th century.

At Cockington Country Park you can ramble through Manscombe and Scadson woods or browse the craft shops in Cockington Court, perhaps enjoying lunch or tea at one of the cafes. Record numbers of guillemots made their winter home at Berry Head last season and bats have a permanent base in the cliffs. The English Riviera has been officially declared a Geo Park, with designated sites of special interest.
Whether your special interest happens to be Fishing in Devon, History, Geography, Watersports, Walking, Sunbathing or just Relaxing. Newbarn Farm could just be the right Holiday Cottage & Fishing destination for you.
