What's on around Newbarn Farm - Fishing Holidays in Devon

Spend some hazy Autumn Days taking in the views from Newbarn Farm and enjoying just a few events taking place this month!

For those who enjoy mystery, murder, chills and thrills, you will love Agatha Christie's - the undisputed 'Queen' of Torbay - production of ' The Spider's Web' at the Princess Theatre in Torquay, with performances running from 14th September through to 19th September. When Clarissa discovers a dead body in her drawing room, she tries to dispose of it before her Foreign Office Diplomat husband returns home with a government VIP guest in tow. Equipped with an overactive imagaination, Clarissa finds real life murder a little too hard to handle! And having persuaded her houseguests to help her, it soon becomes apparent that the dead man was not unknown to everyone amongst them. As the web of deceit starts to unravel, Clarris pulls her friends into a desperate race to unveil the murderer and solve the mystery before the police discover the felony and arrest her as their prime suspect! A great way to finish of a day's fishing at Newbarn Farm - probably one of the best self-catering and fishing holidays!

Enjoy sampling different ales and food - well the Abbfest - the Abbotskerswell Beer and Food Festival may just be for you. Forever a highlight in the locals Autumn Dairy, this festival taking place during the British Food Fortnight is a must. In addition to being able to sample over 100 beers and ciders - all produced in Devon, 50 local food producers will be displaying their produce - with plenty of traditional fayre. This wonderful tribute to Devon's finest foods and beverages takes place from Friday 25th September through to Sunday 27th September. Spread over three days allows you at least a morning's fishing at Newbarn Farm a great Fishing in Devon location!

And lastly watch in awe as the Deer rut in Haldon Forest! Take a minibus safari with the Haldon Forest ranger into the depths of the forest, then walk - over rough terrain in places - to see and hear the rut of the rare Black Fallow Deer, seen in the picture here. This will be followed by a well deserved full breakfast at a local establishment (vegetarian option available). Saturday 10th October - 6.30am - 9.30am. £15.00 per person. Booking essential.
