SEOs - No longer an alien concept

There was a time not that long ago (well for some anyway) when the papers would be full of UFO sightings, crop circles and goodness knows what else! Green Martians and life on Mars! These days you are more likely to see pages dedicated to the SEO and not the UFO! But what does it all mean?

These days you can no longer expect to see your website at the top of Google by setting up a few link backs or by adding a few meta tags. Now in this highly competitive market place a successful SEO campaign is now paramount if anyone wants their business to succeed on line. And believe me we don't want to be left behind, nor do we want to disappoint our potential customers by not being visible on the first page of google. We have a lot on offer and we need you guys to know about it!

So last week you would have noticed the following appearing on a 'scroll down' on the home page of our website - 'odd!', some of you may have thought, I have a tendency to agree with you. But it is integril to the success of our very own SEO campaign -

Flighty Numbers!

The RSPB held their annual Big Garden Watch over the weekend with thousands recording the number of flighty friends visiting their bird tables during this cold spell. Prompted by this national garden watch we have decided to construct bird feeders in all of our holiday cottage gardens.

We have had for years two feeders in our own garden which see many species of bird - from the expected such as Blue Tits, Great Tits, Greenfinches, Goldfinches, Wrens we also have visits from Bullfinches, Nuthatches, Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers and on rare occasions a Green Woodpecker and a rather flirty Jay. Wagtails are frequent visitors too!

Now we would like to give you the opportunity to experience the delight of watching these birds flutter around your garden without any thought of binoculars, walking boots or indeed having to struggle through unrelenting gorse.

So not only can we offer you a splendid Devon Fishing Holiday we can offer a splendid Devon Fishing Holiday with Twitching thrown in for free.

****Santa & Angelina's Star Performance****

'You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why, because Santa Claus (and 1000's of friends) are coming to town!'
On Sunday 9th December 2007, The Great English Riviera (commonly known as Torbay) is open to absolutely everyone and will see 1000s of people dressed in Santa suits running/walking/staggering/skipping along the seafront of Torquay. Everyone is invited including you to take part in the biggest seasonal charity event to ever take place on the English Riviera. Forget the running on bulls in Pamplona - we will be having the running of the Santa's in Torbay, South Devon! Raising money for the charity 'When You Wish Upon A Star' - a fantastic organisation that makes dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses from around the UK.
To take part it really is quite straightforward wherever you may be. It costs just £10 for adults (over 15) to enter, which includes your Santa suit and a medal at the end. Santa's Little
Helpers (under 15) can also take part. For just £5 entry, they get a Christmas hat to run in and receive a medal at the end. All profits go to 'When You Wish Upon A Star' Charity.
Possibly a little far to travel for the day - why not book up tickets to see Angelina's Star Performance at the Princess Theatre, Torquay ( http://www.princesstheatre.org.uk/ ) and make a weekend of it! And if you still have Christmas Shopping to do there are plenty of wonderful shops to choose your nearest and dearest gifts, with the Dartington Centre definitely being the first port of call.
Book a short break in one of our luxury self-catering cottages here at Newbarn Farm for the weekend of the Santa Run and participate and we will deduct the entry fee of the event from the cost of your stay and donate this to the charity. Book any other dates before Christmas and we will donate 5% of your booking fee to 'When You Wish Upon A Star' Charity, quoting Ref:SCR12.

Christmas Shopping

Christmas at Newbarn Farm

I don't know about you but at this time of year I come out in a cold sweat - just thinking about all that Christmas shopping and having to locate the best tasting Turkey sometimes gets a little too much!

Do you sometimes feel the same? Do you still have a ton of Christmas preparation to do? If the answer is yes to either of the above questions - we may just be able to help.

For as little £172 for a weekend break (3 nights) or £260 for a full week, you could treat your loved one to a fantastic holiday in a beautiful rural retreat here at Newbarn Farm in South Devon. Torbay commonly known as the English Riviera is less than 10 minutes away by car - with plenty of things to do and fantastic restaurants for gourmet meals or a light lunch! Or simply take in the abundance of fresh air at the farm - take gentle strolls through 42 acres of pasture and woodland, read a novel or two. Just unwind and relax in one of South Devon's most peaceful and tranquil locations.

And for those who like a spot of coarse fishing we can offer you so much more - not just a holiday but a 'FISHING HOLIDAY'. One day's coarse fishing for £6.00, a three day ticket for £16 and for a full week just £40. For any keen carp anglers out there, I'm sure you will agree a fishing holdiay or short break would make an ideal gift. And for those who live in the locality why not buy a copy of your loved ones favourite angling magazine and pop a three, five or seven day fishing ticket inside and gift wrap ready to put under the Christmas tree.

These tickets can be used on any day of the year on any lake (unless a lake has been closed for a match) and will be valid for a full year.

Happy Christmas Shopping!

FREE OFFER FOR ALL OUR HOLIDAY GUESTS!

Hi

Here at Newbarn Farm we are AGAIN experiencing some fantastic weather for this time of year, we can hardly believe that coats are not required and that our sweatshirts are neatly folded on the shelf gathering dust!

The guys here spent last week and will again this week putting up 6 large wrought iron repro Victorian Street Lamps, they will look fantastic when all up and working and as the nights close in will add warmth to Newbarn Farm's rustic exterior charm! Another project in the pipeline is to light up the majestic Oak Tree at the entrance of the Cottage carpark - which I am sure will create a mysterious aura just in time for the ghouls and ghosts on the night of Halloween!

Just a couple of the planned improvements which will add to the ambience of our luxury self-catering cottages and fishing lakes. And with the weather continuing to surprise us after such a dismal summer we have decided to offer all our guests staying in our holiday cottages not only an opportunity to experience all our latest developments first hand but also an offer of FREE fishing* - YES THAT IS FREE FISHING for an entire week's stay!

Hurray whilst the offer lasts!

* Offer only available for weekly bookings does not apply to short breaks.
